PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 2 November 2026. This policy explains, in plain language, what information themovierulz.online collects, why, and the choices and rights you have. themovierulz.online is an informational movie-guide website — release dates, movie guides, box office tracking and OTT updates — and this policy covers this website and the MovieRulz app.
THIS POLICY IN SHORT
In short: we collect as little as we reasonably can. Browsing our movie guides needs no account and no personal information. If you email us, we see the details you choose to send so we can reply. Like most websites, we use cookies and analytics to understand which pages readers value and to keep the site working, and advertising partners may use cookies under their own policies. We never sell your personal information. You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, and to correct or delete it, by writing to [email protected] — and we will act on genuine requests promptly.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information you send us. If you contact us — by email or through the contact form, which opens your own email app — we receive the details you choose to include: typically your name, your email address and your message. We hold that correspondence so we can reply and, where you reported an error, so we can verify the fix with you.
Information collected automatically. When you visit, standard technical data is collected by our hosting and analytics: your device and browser type, the pages you visit and how long you spend on them, your approximate region (country or city level, derived from your connection), and referral information such as the site or search engine that led you here. This data is aggregated and statistical — it tells us "this guide is popular in the evening", not who any individual reader is.
COOKIES
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We and our partners use three kinds. Essential cookies keep the site working correctly — remembering basic preferences and keeping pages loading properly. Analytics cookies help us understand which guides and pages readers value, so we can improve content and fix what is not working. Advertising cookies may be set by advertising partners so that ads can be shown and measured; those partners handle them under their own privacy policies.
Your control: you can disable cookies at any time in your browser settings — every major browser offers this under its Privacy or Site Settings menu, and you can also delete cookies already stored. The site will still work; some preferences simply will not be remembered between visits.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use information for the purposes it was given: replying to your messages and correction requests; improving our content by seeing which guides readers actually use; measuring traffic so we understand the site's health; keeping the site and app secure and working; and, where relevant, showing advertising that keeps a free site free. We do not use your information to build individual advertising profiles of our own, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
We use a small number of third-party services to run the site — principally analytics providers (to measure traffic) and advertising partners (to show ads). These services may set their own cookies and process technical data under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read on their websites. Our pages also link out to third-party destinations — cinemas, streaming platforms, Wikipedia, IMDb, JustWatch, BookMyShow, Sacnilk, Letterboxd and Google Play among them. When you follow those links, the destination site's policy, not ours, governs what happens there.
DATA SHARING
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only where it is necessary to operate: with the service providers described above, who process technical data on our behalf; where the law requires it; or to protect the rights and safety of the site and its readers. There is no other sharing, and there never will be a "partners may contact you" list with your email on it.
DATA RETENTION & SECURITY
We keep email correspondence for as long as it is useful — to complete the conversation, honour a correction, or meet a legal obligation — and delete it when it no longer serves a purpose. Analytics data is held in aggregated, statistical form. We take reasonable, ordinary security measures appropriate to a small information website: reputable hosting, current software, and access limited to the people who run the site. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but the most important protection is structural: we collect very little personal information in the first place.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
themovierulz.online is a general-audience movie information site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us at the address below and we will delete it promptly.
EXTERNAL LINKS
Our guides link to official and reference websites so you can verify facts and watch films legally. Those websites have their own privacy policies and practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for. We encourage you to read the policy of any site you visit from ours.
YOUR RIGHTS
Your information belongs to you. You may ask us, at any time and free of charge: what personal information we hold about you (in practice, any emails you have sent us); to correct anything inaccurate; and to delete it entirely. Write to [email protected] with your request, and we will action genuine requests promptly and confirm by reply. You may also withdraw from any correspondence simply by telling us.
POLICY CHANGES
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update this page and refresh the "Last updated" date at the top. The version published here is always the current one. Last updated: 2 November 2026.
